Gwen Stouder, President
Gwen Stouder has been apart of the Education Foundation board for 3 years. She’s working on the website and marketing aspects for the Ed. Foundation. She has been volunteering as the website manager for the last couple years. Gwen has a degree in Web Design and Marketing from Metropolitan State University and managed her own business. She currently works at Wells Fargo as a home mortgage consultant. Gwen and her husband Pete have two children, (Madi) a Senior at Silver Creek and (Austin) a Freshman. Gwen believes in helping out and giving back to her community. Being a part of the board is her way of supporting the school, kids, and community.
Erick Finnestead, SCHS Principal
Erick Finnestead is the Principal of Silver Creek High School and also serves on the Silver Creek Education Foundation. He and his wife, Kim, are active in supporting our St. Vrain Valley School District and numerous other charitable causes. Prior to serving as Principal of Silver Creek High School, Erick served as Principal of The Manning School and Assistant Principal of Summit High School. He has taught in the traditional and alternative high school settings, having been an AP teacher, basketball coach, and student leadership advisor. Erick has degrees awarded from The University of Missouri and Adams State. His two daughters proudly attend St. Vrain Valley Schools.
Julie Nielson, Vice President
Julie has been a board member since 2014. She is the currently the Vice President. Julie and her family moved to Longmont in 2012. Her oldest, Jake, graduated from Silver Creek in 2016. He is studying Chemical Engineering at CU-Boulder. Her other two kids, Jared and Jenna, are seniors at a Silver Creek. Julie is a Director Of Engineering for Amgen, with a BS in Industrial Engineering and MS in Manufacturing Systems Engineering. Prior to joining Amge, Julie was the VP of Corporate Responsibility in the electronics industry. Her husband, Jeff is a Mechanical Engineer for Mico Motion. Everyone in the family loves to hike, bike, ski and play tennis.
Lisa Hainline, Secretary
Joined the SCEF board in August 2016. She was born in NY, lived in the Boston area for 15 years until moving with her family to Colorado in 2002. Lisa and her husband Jeff have 2 sons, both at Silver Creek, Tom (2020) and Zach (2018). Lisa has been an active board member for many organizations and non-profits in MA and CO since 1999, after working as a teacher in the Newton Public Schools, Solomon Schechter Day School and teacher naturalist for Mass Audubon. She has a BS in elementary Education from Boston University and a MA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Environmental and experiential Education from Lesley College. Lisa was also an active member of the PTOs at Eagle Crest Elem and Blue Mountain Elem. Shen has also been an active member of the Grassroots St Vrain board since 2008, a non-profit that works as an advocate for Public School Funding in Colorado and helped educate the SVVSD community during the MLO and Bond Campaigns. Lisa enjoys fundraising and social outreach and is happy to help SCEF achieve its goals and be successful in achieving its mission.
Eric Ottem, Assistant Principal
Eric Ottem helped inaugurate the Silver Creek Education Foundation in the spring of 2009, during his first year as an assistant principal. Prior to administrative life at Silver Creek, Eric taught English at Niwot High School, and World Literature as an adjunct instructor for Eastern Oregon University. He is a writer and a professional jazz trumpeter who performs weekly at a variety of local venues. Born in Greeley to third-generation Coloradans, Eric grew up in Nebraska, graduated from Brown University, and has lived in Niwot with his wife, Amy Keleher (a Boulder psychotherapist), since 2002. His oldest son, Gordon, is a Navy veteran returning to college. His son Conrad, graduated from Silver Creek in 2010 and attends the University of Colorado in Boulder. Daughter, Eleanor, is seven and son, Graham, is two.

Amy Lane is a new board member this year. She assists with website updates and other media needs. She moved to Longmont in 2010 from Estes Park, where she served on multiple boards and helped with fundraising for various groups, including Habitat for Humanity, Lifelong Learning of Estes Valley, and Families for Estes. Since 1999, she and her husband have run an Architecture and Branding design firm, with offices in Estes Park and Longmont. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Colorado.
Taweewan Winkenbach is a first generation immigrant from Bangkok, Thailand. She met her Swiss husband, Georges, in Seattle. After living a typical work life (Microsoft/Starbucks), in 2006 the family moved to CO with their children, Alicia (14) and Vincent (12). Now a full-time mom, Taweewan is raising the children toward becoming global citizens, both on land and underwater. Personally, Taweewan enjoys simple things in life; eating good food /lounging at a tropical beach… that is it!

Kirsten Brown, Teacher Representative
Kirsten Brown is a Social Studies teacher at Silver Creek High School. Seven years ago she moved from Illinois to Boulder Colorado where she pursued a degree in History and Education at The University of Colorado, Boulder. During her undergraduate program, she had the unique opportunity to participate in the Semester at Sea program where she traveled to three continents and thirteen different countries. Her experiences visiting multiple schools and orphanages in third world countries reinforced my passion to enter the field of education. She is currently continuing her studies at the University of Colorado where she am working on her masters degree in secondary education curriculum and literacy. In her free time, I enjoy water skiing, snow skiing, running, traveling, learning and spending quality time with family and friends. This is her second year teaching at Silver Creek High School and feels blessed to continue to teach alongside such dedicated and wonderful teachers.
